The social network part of V-NET is not ready to be released to public yet, for that reason the chat can only be performed between users who can share a common account now. But this limitation will be removed in a future version of the system.

Prerequisites

  • A valid subscription to the chat service. It can be done on spot inside of the relevant pages.
  • Both computers or devices involved, which will be referred to as nodes in the following, need to have working camera or microphone attached.
  • Both nodes have installed one of the following softwares: Chrome, Opera or Firefox browser, App for V-NET on Android with version not less than 5.0, the V-NET client program on a desktop computer. If one intend to show screens on a node, Firefox browser or build of Chrome browser that supports screen capture or desktop client for V-NET should be used on that node. They are referred to as V-NET "host" in the following.

Making a call

Click the button on the selected target endpoint and then select "Chat Call" task to go to the corresponding chat call page, where one can initiate a audio or video chat with an optional call message.

Answering a call

A call from the calling endpoint will trigger an audio ring. If the receiving endpoint is not busy, the call will also bring it to the chat answer page directly. However, if receiving endpoint is busy on a different page, the user can go to the home page, then Click the button on the calling endpoint and then select "Chat Answer" task to go to the corresponding chat answer page.

One can either accept, reject with an optional reason message there. One can also ignore the call so that it will timeout after a while. When accepting a call the user can also pick the media channels (audio or video) using which to chat, they does not have to be the same as the ones used by caller.
